Best Choice

The Best Choice Save-A-Label program is a veteran program to Camp Mennoscah, having been around for several years. As one of many ways folks can donate to camp, the Save-A-Label program works by the simple donation of Best Choice labels (including the UPC portion) to Camp Mennoscah. When you donate labels to us, we then may redeem them, as a non-profit organization, and receive $0.03 for each label at a minimum of 1,000 labels. Basically, $30 for every 1,000 labels!

Recently, many small grocery stores in Kansas have switched to the Best Choice brand as their store brand. These include but are not limited to: Halstead Market, Peabody Market, Dale’s Supermarket in Hillsboro, Carlson’s in Marion, Weaver Grocers in Hesston, Haven Foodliner, Kraus Foods in Colwich, Moundridge Food Market, Hometown Food Store in Buhler, Cornerstone Market in Inman.

Shop locally, and donate your Best Choice labels to us at PO Box 65  Murdock, KS 67111. Thank you!

A special thank you to Jennie Wintermote for bringing the changes in the program to our attention. Thanks, Jennie!

Camp Mennoscah Association is joining the movement to support a global day of giving this Thanksgiving season. The purpose of the movement is to support charitable giving during the holiday season, whether that be through monetary donation or by volunteering time/resources. With global consumerism seemingly taking over the holiday season, this is a way to truly give back to communities and non-profits.

This year, on November 29th, we are having a camp gathering, #MojosMeetsMennoscah, at Mojo’s Coffee Bar in North Newton, KS from 5:30-8:30pm. At the event, monetary donations for Camp Mennoscah Association 501(c)3 will be accepted and sign-up sheets for potential volunteers (e.g. counselors, custodial/maintenance workers, etc) will be available. We welcome you to join us at Mojo’s, not just for giving, but also for a time of catching up, sharing stories, and making new memories.

Additionally, we are supporting the hashtag #UNselfie with a whiteboard for you to write why you support Camp Mennoscah, take a picture, and post it to your social media! Join the #UNselfie movement by posting a picture before the event holding this sign with written text saying why you support Camp Mennoscah; or, simply write why you support camp on some paper and use the hashtags #CampMennoscah, #GivingTuesday, and #UNselfie and post without the sign! Check here for more information about #UNselfie.

If you cannot make it to the event, remember you can donate to camp in many ways including sending your volunteer information to Check our Donate to Camp page for information about supporting Camp Mennoscah through AmazonSmile and Community Rewards or to donate monetarily.

Concrete, Lumber, Nails, & Hard Work

Camp Mennoscah’s current project is underway! The kitchen addition portion of the project has been under construction since late September and more recently the walls have gone up. Preferred Builders out of Hesston began with the digging, as well as pouring the footing and floor; Scott Erb and Orlin Martens came out to do the preparatory work for the plumbing and electrical lines; and now, Miller Construction out of Newton is working to complete the framing.

It has been amazing to see the progress of this project from the very first day to today. To keep updated on the renovation project, like us on Facebook! Pictures and information are posted more often there. To donate to the Kitchen, Dining Hall, and Entrance Project, click on the “Donate Here” button to the right. That link also includes the floor plan and more information about the project.
